Thousand Faces Camp – ran by REACH

Both Adam and Peta agree – “There truly are no words to fully describe the experience.”

Just this weekend gone, two Highview team members were given a chance ‘to shake things up’ & make a positive impact on the lives of young people. Our Practice Manager Peta & Manager / Accountant Adam, together were encouraged by Highview to attend the REACH Thousand Faces Camp. At Thousand Faces Camp, a safe space is created for 13-17 year olds to chat, connect, build friendships, challenge assumptions & think about things in a different way – and to have fun! Peta & Adam were given the opportunity to volunteer their time to mentor and connect with youths, helping these young Australians through a facilitated program to begin realising their potential. By enabling two of our team members to attend, in turn, we funded two young Australian’s to attend this life changing experience.

Adam relays his experience, “There are no words to fully describe the experience. It was incredible, it was confronting, it was a real eye-opener and a great way to do some self-discovery. I would urge anyone and everyone to step out of their comfort zone and take on this experience, not just for the kids but equally for themselves.”

“It was a privilege to be a part of such a phenomenal weekend. To take 17 adults and 17 teens and create bonds in such a way that allowed all (including the adults) to be vulnerable, raw, and honest with their situation without any judgement, while encouraging freedom, creativity and the opportunity for everyone to question what really matters, was simply incredible. REACH is truly impacting the lives of these teens and I could only imagine how different my life would have been if I too was introduced to REACH in my teenage years” said Peta.

Highview has formed a formal Partnership with REACH & we look forward to sharing our team’s experiences with everyone throughout the year, as well as working hard to raise much needed funds for this incredible organisation striving to develop the social and emotional wellbeing of young Australians.
