Get to know Michael…

Michael Ball joined the Highview team at Cranbourne in 2017, and within weeks we felt like he’d been with us for years! A friendly, approachable professional with a great sense of humour – it was undoubtable that he’d quickly fit in with the team.

Michael brought strong client management and accounting experience to Highview, having worked at an accounting and financial planning firm on the Mornington Peninsula for 10 years. With his career ambitions at a high, Michael was seeking a management role at a firm he could see pathways for growth – and Highview stood out, “Highview was highly regarded in the industry which was really appealing to me” said Michael.

“Building great relationships with my clients is what matters to me most, along with getting them a great result” says Michael. “I’m someone who always goes above and beyond to help, because I genuinely want to.” Michael’s clients describe him as professional, reliable and consistent. Many have also mentioned that he is gifted at communicating complex information in a way that clients can understand, no matter their industry or professional background. With this in mind, Michael considers his strengths to lie in working with businesses – small to medium, no matter the industry – “Helping businesses set goals, grow, and then witness this growth is a really exciting part of my role.” says Michael.

Currently, while he’s focussed on his career, his family is equally his key focus. Living in Mornington with his wife Amanda, their family grew quickly after their wedding in 2016. They have an adorable little girl Ava who’s 2 years old and welcomed little boy Jack earlier this year who’s now 6 months old. Yes, their household is currently filled with nappies and wet wipes – but Michael wouldn’t have it any other way.

Out of the office, Michael is passionate about cars and motorbikes – he has his own road bike, a Triumph Scrambler, that he loves to jump on and cruise around the long windy roads on the Peninsula. He also loves dirt bikes. He has fond memories of growing up in Frankston South with his family on a large parcel of land riding dirt bikes endlessly with his two younger brothers.

On weekends Michael enjoys going for long drives with his family (albeit because the little ones sleep well in the car ha-ha!). He also enjoys a spot of tennis and plans to join the Mornington tennis club later this year to reinvigorate his skills – ready to teach his kids to hold their first racquet the moment they are old enough! We look forward to hearing how Michael goes in local tennis comps in the future – we’ve seen how competitive he is in our office Ping Pong competitions, so we can only imagine!
